Joan Reece, Kennel Nurse Manager

Joan joined Dickinson Animal Hospital and Pet Wellness Center in 2010. She has spent the last 20 years in the veterinary field, both as a nurse and a receptionist. Currently Joan takes care of our hotel guests, making sure their stay with us is fabulous!

When she’s not caring for guests at Dickinson Animal Hospital and Pet Wellness Center, Joan is at home with her beloved animals. She has a Jack Russell Terrier named Jackie, a Basset Hound named Sophie, and her newest addition, Penny Lane, a bottle-fed Tortoiseshell kitten.

Deborah Burks, Boarding Technician

Deborah, the newest member of the Dickinson Animal Hospital & Pet Wellness Team, grew up on a farm in San Antonio. Her love for animals began when she was only 5 years old. While in FFA, she began to learn to care for animals and learn more about the impact of their health on their overall well being. Her career in veterinary medicine began 5 years ago. Since that time, she has learned how to be even more compassionate for animals and their owners. She enjoys coming to work to play with her pet family friends and she also enjoys interacting with my co-workers and helping wherever she is needed.

Deborah was married for 23 years and is recently widowed. She has raised 3 boys and has 3 beautiful grandchildren.
