Reception Team
Teresa Alvear, Receptionist
Teresa grew up in League City, Texas and graduated in 1996 from Clear Creek High School. As a child, Teresa practiced two hobbies, both of which would impact her future. Her first hobby was gymnastics. Beginning at age 9, Teresa trained as a gymnast and was a cheerleader through junior high, high school, and college. She also was a cheer coach for five years and cheered competitively at NCAA. Teresa’s other hobby was bringing in as many stray animals as she could find into her parents’ home. This lifelong love for animals is what led to Teresa's decision to work at Dickinson Animal Hospital & Pet Wellness Center.
At home, Teresa has two beautiful girls, ages 10 and 11. Also in their family are three dogs, three cats, and a bird.

Barbara Holly, Receptionist/Kennel Manager
After a lifetime of loving animals, Barbara jumped at the opportunity to work in a veterinary clinic in 1995. Barbara originally joined Dickinson Animal Hospital and Pet Wellness Center in 2004 as a Receptionist. She now serves as our Kennel and Reception Manager. Barbara loves being around people and pets, and she therefore considers her “work” days as “play” days.
She and her husband have three dogs, six cats, one horse, and one Cockatiel. Along with caring for their own pets, Barbara and her husband are active in a Golden Retriever rescue group. Barbara also enjoys her lifetime passion of showing her Quarter Horse in competition.
