Derek had been working in the veterinary medical field since 2014. Prior to this, he was a pet groomer for about two years. Achievements include completing the Veterinary Assistant Program at Alvin Community College. He is also enrolled in the Veterinary Technology program through Penn Foster in hopes to earn a degree in Animal Science. When he is not tending to patients in the clinic, he enjoys spending most of his time outdoors. Jogging, riding bikes, fishing, gardening and cooking are some of his favorite pastimes. One day, he hopes to gain the confidence to work with many different species within the animal kingdom as well as furthering his education within veterinary medicine. He has three cats and spent a lot of time on his grandparent’s farm working with horses and cows. He would also volunteer at the Brazos Bend State Park and Wildlife Research facility.
