Dickinson Animal Hospital
Anesthesia & Pain Management
Dickinson Animal Hospital & Pet Wellness Center is committed to the safety of every patient. So, in every case, we conduct the proper screening, monitoring, and selection of anesthetics to significantly reduce the risk associated with anesthesia—a common and typically safe procedure that ensures your pet’s comfort.

We use a variety of anesthetic agents and protocols that are tailored to the needs of the individual patient. We determine these needs based on a patient’s:
Age
Breed
Size
Physical exam findings
Diagnostic test results
Prior anesthetic experiences
A specially trained nurse is assigned to each patient and is responsible for monitoring the patient from admission through the anesthetic period and into recovery and discharge. We also use multiple monitoring devices that display vitals, such as ECG, patient oxygenation level, blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate, and body temperature.
Everything we do is designed to get your pet standing, walking, and pain-free as soon as possible following his or her procedure.
Our doctors are skilled and experienced surgeons who perform all general procedures:
Spay and neuter
Tumor/growth removal
Wound repair
